Mark your calendars for the 8th annual Mayor's Labor Day Hike & Bike, coming up a week from today on Sep't. 1.
The ride starts at 10am, at Waterfront Park, and will go out to Iroquois Park and back for a total of 17 miles.
Participants are encouraged to bring a can (or two) of food for Kentucky Harvest, to help out the less fortunate.
Informational booths will open at 9, and a limited number of free t-shirts will be given away.
My wife and I are planning
My wife and I are planning on being there on our tandem. So far, we've done one ride around the neighborhood and she complained about the bars being too low, so I put some old bars on with about a six inch rise. I'm not sure if any of my kids will be up for this. My daughter complained so much last time, I had to turn around early just to shut her up.
I hope to bring my tandem
I hope to bring my tandem down as well, and I've also heard the same complaints about the bars in the back being too low.
We ride it so sporadically that I haven't made any changes at this point, but either flat bars, or risers, will most likely go on sometime in the future.
Weather permitting, should be another great turnout!
This was the first Mayor's
This was the first Mayor's rides that we didn't make. To much sun and beer yesterday for the UofL football game. I didn't crawl out of bed until 10 this morning. Oh well, maybe my wife and I will hit the tandem soon elsewhere.
