It's back to the old River Road Country Club for this Sunday's Storm the Greens Cyclocross event. Racing gets under way at 11am. For more info. visit 2wheelsports.com
Race promoter Mike Hewitt said that five years ago, when he put on his first race, only 11 racers showed up. Compare that to Sunday's expected turnout of 200 to 250 racers, and you can see that cyclocross is a very fast growing cycling event.
The enthusiasm is contagious and the races only last for about an hour (or less). I hope to give it a try next year, as I've already switched to winter (non-riding) mode at this time.
