Redneck idiot

Posted in

About a month ago Gonzo and I were riding on a little road here in Bath County when two large black dogs came out and tried to bite us. Actually the were nipping at Gonzo heels when he sprayed one with pepper spray. The guy was standing on the porch watching and didn't try to stop them.
Today my brother in law and I were riding the same road and the same dogs came out after us. We were getting ready to spray them when we heard a guy cursing us. He told us if we didn't like having the dogs chase us then we should get the f*** down the road and never ride down it again. He had a ball bat and was threatening to bash our heads in.
I guess he thought that we would just ride off scared, maybe due to our not so manly biking atire. He was wrong. We went off the deep end. I can't repeat all that was said but we could persuade him to bring his bat out and play.
We got his address and called the State Police who said that they would pay him a visit. We are also going to call the dog warden. Man I haven't been that mad in years. It ruined a perfect day for riding.

That's the exact reason I

That's the exact reason I don't ride road anymore. Every redneck with a washer and refrigerator on the front porch also has a pitbull or some other meanass dog hiding behind them, lying in wait for someone to ride a bike or walk by on the PUBLIC road in front of the house. After the dog or dogs have executed the attack and blood has been drawn from the unsuspecting rider or pedestrian, the Redneck mind can entirely justify the action. We are always the one in fault. We either shouldn't have been on the road in the first place or we should have talked to the dog or ignored him, whatever. I have come to the inarguable conclusion that the redneck posesses a lower level of intellegence than the dog they are supposed to be master over.

I was attacked by a redneck's rottweiler while riding road a couple years ago and received several deep pucture wounds to my leg. A couple weeks ago my 11 year old daughter was attacked by a bull mastiff while walking on the street in our neighborhood. We got to spend the night in the emergency room. Her left arm was bitten several times while protecting her face and neck. She is doing better now. No broken bones and they did locate the dog and he had his rabie shots. It could have been alot worse and I'm thankful it wasn't.
If I had a dog who would bite someone, I would shoot the SOB myself.

Glad you guys confronted BillyBob. I doubt the cops will do anything, they tend to avoid rednecks like the plague. So do I.

I was just pedaling along............

Wow, sorry to hear about

Wow, sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she is ok and has no lasting scars.

I may be a redneck to but I will not be bullied. I will make it my mission to ride by this guys house just as often as I feel the need.

Jim can you pass this story

Jim can you pass this story on to someone that could get things changed. Here is a post on the BCC site about dog vs cyclist in KY. Hopefully this can get some dogs fenced in.

Sorry to hear your daughter

Sorry to hear your daughter getting bitten. A mastiff is a huge dog and she sounds very lucky.

I have the same problem when I ride my mountain bike on the rode around town Jim. There's always a dog that chases me and I'm sure it's a lot worse when you're riding in the country. There's not many dog owners in town and somehow I still end up getting chased. Anyways I'm glad you confronted the redneck and reported it to the proper authorities. I can't stand people like that. They don't care if you get bitten and have to pay for your own hospital bills, but you better not make their dog have irritated eyes. Where's their logic. I'm trying hard not to rant.
