I'll have most of the trail info up on the site later this week. They'll have the option of comments below the main description so people can easily post trail updates etc.

Dry trails?

Any suggestions for finding a dry trail? I'm new to louisville and just got a new bike i'm itching to get out on but not looking to get totally soaked and filled with mud just yet. Which ones dry up the quickest in the louisville area?

Close to L-ville, Fort

Close to L-ville, Fort Duffield will be the best when the trails are wet, but it will take a few dry days to be ridable even there.

Give a yell if you don't know where it is, and we'll talk you in to it. The trails are on the more advanced side and I wouldn't ride there alone if your new to trail riding.

Another that is out by E-town is Youngers Creek. Many hours of trail work have been completed there, and is a great place to ride. There tends to be a weekly group ride to help you on your first few trips, but the trails are easy to follow and once you get up the hill, can accommodate most rider abilities.

Cool, thanks. Hopefully the

Cool, thanks. Hopefully the weather will stay a little dry till this weekend so I can go check it out. I wouldn't say I'm new to it but I wouldn't say I know what I'm doing either, It would be great to have someone show me around a couple of tracks maybe give me some pointers or whatever. I'm confadent I could get around the track then again I am disapointingly out of shape.....hopefully we'll fix that.

Trails here at the Run are

Trails here at the Run are pretty crappy right now. Wet, muddy and horsed to death.

Sorry Stewart

I think even Duffield will be mushy with all the rain and snow we have had and will have soon. Actually, we've ridden "further" into the winter than ever before with this El Nino year. Unless we have a good hard freeze, I think you will have difficulty riding off road for some time. If the temps get low enough, you definitely have to get out on the trail early as even a sub freezing day with plenty of sunshine will result in a freeze-thaw phenomenon wherby the trail surface will actually turn to complete goo - make that suck your shoes off, can't clip in, tear up the trail surface goo.

BTW, there are a few of us mtbers who ride the road when we can't ride the trails. Most of the time, we ride on Sunday morning from different starting points around Louisville (commonly Seneca tennis courts) and the ride times are anywhere from 1.5 to occasionally 3 hours in length. Course, we ride road bikes, so the average speed is 18mph+ depending on route and how much talking we do. You, and anyone else, are always welcome.

I checked the forcast right after that last post and it didn't look good guess i'll just have to admire my bike from the computer chair for a while. Thanks for the offer on the road biking but I really need to stop spending money for a while...I was looking into building a fixed gear road bike maybe i'll do that if I can find a frame and some parts nice and cheap.
