New Features & Tips!

Things are really starting to come along with the site. I'll be doing some screencasts soon to make it easy to learn how to get the most out of Bike Kentucky. For now here are some quick tips on new features and content :

Bike Shop MapCheck out http://bikekentucky.com/map/bikeshops for a map of bike shops in Kentucky. This gives you a handy view of whats available and where.

User MapYou need to be logged in to access this one. Click on My account on the top right. Then choose to edit your profile. The first section is a new spot to put your Location. You can put as much or as little as you want but the City, State and Postal Code will put you on the user location map (only visible to registered users).

Custom Weather BlocksYou need to be logged in to access this one. Click on My account on the top right. Then choose My weather from the menu above your profile view. Here you can add one or more locations to monitor the weather while you are on the site. They will show up on the right in a Current Weather Block. Now you can easily see the weather for each area you ride in one easy spot!

Much More Coming Very Soon!On top of those I have quite a few other things that are very close to being done and should be available next week or by the end of May. Some of them include a fully functional Event Listing Section, Ride Guide (all styles) and a Racing Calendar unlike any other site covering Kentucky has. With a clean, easy to use interface, tons of content thats available at the click of a mouse...Bike Kentucky and Singletrack.net will be the only sites you will need to keep up with whats going on with cycling in Kentucky.

For the User Location Map, I

For the User Location Map, I only show up if I put my full street address. I tried my street name only, city, state, and zip, and it didn't show up. City, state, and zip, still not showing up.

Hmmm, I'm looking into that.

Hmmm, I'm looking into that. User info is protected and only visible to other members of the site. If it only needs city then you'll have Louisville and Lexington with just a big stack of pins and no way to click on them and see who is where....not sure what to do here.

As for the trail head map...check out :
