I loved it and I would do it on a regular basis if I could find some to keep my feet warm. Layers are almost out of the question as I'm pressed for room in my shoes anyways. And do forget my glasses fogging up because of wearing the mask...eye correction surgery is soon to come. I had fun none the less.
I found a great way to keep your toes toasty in the winter ... I use toe covers (not full boots) over my cycling shoes and I slip a hand/foot warmer pack between my covers and shoes right above my toes. My feet never get cold even after two hours. They get so warm that steam comes off my shoes when it's really cold. Because the warmers are on the outside of the shoes it doesn't change the fit or cramp my feet. Also I wear some thin Smartwool socks over a pair of ultrathin wickaway socks from an outdoor shop.
