Trail Work Day

WHAT’S THIS ABOUT ? : The Bowling Green High School Mountain Bike club holds a local race every year at Park Mammoth Resort. This race has always had the mission to attract high schoolers to the clean, fun sport of mountain biking as well as any adult beginner racers. This race has grown and is now part of the KY Point Series which attracts some more serious riders as well. The trail for this race needs maintenance every spring and so this is an ORGANIZED TRAIL WORK DAY to get that accomplished.

YOU CAN HELP! : Are you familiar with mountain bike trails? If all you can do is pick up sticks and rake, we can use your help! Just show up with some work gloves, some drinking water, and the willingness to help the BGHS Mountain Bike Club clean up the trail for the race! (Race day is May 5th, by the way. For more race details and for a race flyer send inquiry to bghsmtbclub@gmail.com).

WHEN ? : Saturday APRIL 14. Meet at Park Mammoth Resort 9:30 AM (Central time).

Where ? : Park Mammoth Resort is located 20 minutes north of Bowling Green on 31-W. You will see it on your left if traveling north on
31-W from BG. From I-65 N take the Park City exit and turn left. From I-65 S take Park City exit and turn right. Go past the Shell station to the stop sign and turn right on 31-W south. Drive no more than a mile and Park Mammoth Resort will be on your right (you’ll see the sign and the drive.) Go up the drive and continue going straight (don’t go into the hotel parking lot that veers to the left). Meet in the large lot ahead or at the water tower off to the right. You’ll see people.

WHY ? : Why help? Because what else are you going to do Saturday? You can have the good feeling that you helped out a local high school mountain bike club, enjoy being around some fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and if weather permitting, bring your bike for afterwards. We can grab lunch in Cave City and head out to Sal Hollow (Mammoth Cave) for a ride!

It is snowing/sleeting (ever so slightly) here in BG, but I am glad it wasn't this cold for our trail work yesterday. It was drizzling when we started, but the rain stopped and the temp even warmed up and it didn't start raining until the minute we got back to the cars to call it a day! It doesn't get better than that! Thanks, Nick, for coming and helping out! Don't know if Greg or Caleb gets on this site, but thanks to you guys, too -- we know your day was busy and you still made it out!
