For any road racing (without wheels that is) fans out there, the 3rd leg of Lou's. triple crown of running is tomorrow.
The race starts at Churchill Downs, heads out to Iroquois Park and finishes (where else) Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.
Numerous racers (mostly the back of the pack walkers/runners) complained last year about the aid stations being out of water, and many went the entire distance w/o any. So you can count on ample fluids being available this year.
Speaking of fluids, I know someone that did this race (or maybe it was another in the triple crown) a couple of years back that started at Iroquois Park. With her husband and two kids there at the starting line, she was shocked to find a shortage of portacans, and large numbers of male runners simply relieving themselves in the bushes (remember that we're talking in excess of 6,000 runners) just before the start of the race. Kind of begs the question, is there any other time that you can do the same thing in public w/o getting into a little trouble.
