It depends on what you get

It depends on what you get and how qualified the mechanic is doing the work. Most shops have at least a few guys that know what they are doing so even if a green mechanic gets a hold of your bike he/she is likely to ask questions if they run into a problem. When I was in Colorado the going price for a tuneup out there was $80. Consider yourself lucky being in Kentucky with tuneup prices usually being under $50.

to kinda of echo what scott said. Always ask what the tune up consists of. I've been in a couple shops in ky that will charge the same thing, but one doesn't do half the stuff the other place does. One shops tune up consisted of adjusting brakes and der and inflating tires if they felt low by pressing on them. Other shop cleaned drivetrain, adjusted brakes and der, inflated with gauge, checked for loose hardware, and finished by riding around the parking lot to see if anything else was wrong.
