Push for Cleaner Air

Posted in

I borrowed the title from one of the Kentuckiana Air Education pamphlets. The following rebate program is a project of our Air Pollution Control District for anyone who lives in Metro Louisville..

Trade in a gas-powered mower for electric and get a $100 rebate. Even without a trade in you can still get a $50 rebate.

Trade it in for a reel (human powered) mower and get a $50 rebate. There’s also rebates for string trimmers, electric blowers and batteries.

Note- the city is rebating money directly back to you, so if you’re planning to purchase an electric trimmer, mower, etc. anyway, make sure to get a few dollars put back into your pocket.

Now that sounds like a nice cross training opportunity, mowing the grass w/a reel mower, in addition to not emitting smog-forming hydrocarbons, your ears will appreciate not being exposed to the very high noise levels.
