don't forget

don't forget the day before (sat) is a trail run. So if you are wanting to preride sat.....it will have to be after 11am.

If you don't take the Saturn

If you don't take the Saturn Parkway and continue on down to exit 46, Stan's eatery will be on the right, as soon as you exit. Stop in and try some chitlins, boiled or fried, and get some squirrel brains w/those scrambled eggs (served anytime).

Never tried either of the above, but the pulled pork plate is tasty.

Unfortunately, Stan's is not smoke-free, so I don't eat there as much as I used to.

There's plenty of additional places to eat in Columbia, but they're intown and out of the way, unless you plan on hanging out for a while.

Columbia is also home to world famous Mule Days, later in the year, and according to some of the locals, you just haven't lived until you've experienced people riding their mules in (many inebriated, the riders, not the mules) from all over the state.

great race.....very hot and humid for march

great times where had, but the heat got the best of some. March race and it was in the mid to high 80's and very humid. Got my first sunburn of the year. Results can be found at http://www.goneriding.com

Chickasaw Trace Sunday 3-25

Todd E's picture

I viewed some pictures from last Sunday. Looked like dry, dusty and fast race conditions....

A diminutive donkey named

A diminutive donkey named Tuscon was the big winner at this past weekend’s 2007 Mule Day Mini Mania.

The cold and rain kept many competitors away, but that didn’t stop Tuscon as he jumped, sniggered (ie- pulling a small log thru an obstacle course) and strutted his way to the championship.

Mule Days are held within a few miles of Chickasaw Trace. (No donkeys are allowed on the trail.)
