Today's Courier-Journal reported that the plan for adding bike lanes to Eastern Parkway has been dropped for now.
Eastern Parkway (or dragway as it often seems due to the speed of the cars) carries a great deal of traffic (it's currently two lanes each direction) and talk of making it one-way each direction w/a center turn lane, in order to add bike lanes, didn't go over too well.
The plan was to connect all the major Olmsted parks (ie- parkways) together w/bike lanes.
