Thoughts on trails in the Cave Run Lake Area

My name is Chris Hood and I am working on a detail assignment for 60 days with the Daniel Boone National Forest, I'm on loan from another Federal Agency. I'm looking at Trail Issues on the northern part of the Cumberland Ranger District, the Cave Run Lake Area (Formerly Known as the Morehead Ranger District). I know the trails are heavily used by Horses, Mountain Bikes and hikers in the area and I'm trying to reach out and discuss with the various users thoughts on the existing official trails as well as user created trails. The Forest has no plans to make any changes to anything at this point they are just trying to get a handle on current useage, desires and conflicts.

I would love to hear from everyone that has something to say about the trails in the area. I would like to know which trails are the favorites of Mountain Bikers, How you feel about sharing with horses and hikers, what you would like to see in the future (ie. designated single use trails, facilities, new trails, closures, seasonal use,etc..)in the Cave Run Lake Area.

You can post responses here, e-mail me at kyhoods@yahoo.com or call my office number at 859-745-3189.

Thanks,
Chris
