I was thinking about switching out my Kenda Blue Groove/Nevegal for a set of Fire Xc Pros. Has anyone tried this tire? From the reviews on Mtbr.org they seem like a good set of tires for a good price. I'm wanting to ditch the blue groove and nevegal because they break loose randomly in a little bit of mud or slitch hardpack. My friend who was using them crashed into a mudhole and I caught myself about 4 times. I'm still not sure how I didn't crash, but after that day I want a new set of tires. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments?
I've used them.
I use them on one of my backup bikes. They hook up in everything except sticky mud. They will pack up and get real heavy, but everything else is good with them. It takes a lot for them to brake loose.
Great tires
They are the only tire that I've used for 10 years. I've tried others but none come close. They hook up in any condition.
Tires
I will probably get these tires. I saw them going pretty cheap online.
difference between wire and kevlar
I just have a simple Giant Yukon and I was wondering if the Kevlar tires were a lot better than the wire. I'm really not concerned about weight, hince I have a Yukon, but I was wondering about durability. The Kevlar costs about 10 more dollars per tire, but I don't need to fold it or care about the weight. Any comments or suggestions
Mostly weight, besides the
Mostly weight, besides the whole foldable thing. Oh hey, price is another big difference.
Also
Kevlar is more puncture resistant.
