The state transportation department is not only giving away an old steel span bridge (that's eligible for the Nat'l. Register of Historic Places ie- it's a pretty bridge if you're into that type of thing) but they'll also disassemble and deliver it to your destination for FREE!
The bridge spans the Rockcastle River, is currently in service (3 ton limit) and is on KY 490 near Lamero.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to link to the article/photos of the bridge. But I forwarded the e-mail I rec'd. from the state to our local Metro Council Parks Committee, suggesting that we incorporate it into Otter Creek or the City of Parks Initiative. (If it was a little longer, we could use it for the long-awaited East End bridge).
