The FORD Ironman triathlon is coming to Louisville on August 26th. The triathlon is a qualifier for the World Championships held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on October 13th.
Registration opened back on October 21st, and sold out in a matter of 10 days.
Ironman recently announced that a limited number of Ironman Community Foundation Slots for the inaugural Louisville event are available on a first-come first-served basis. Visit ironman.com for details. Note- the cost is a steep $1,000, which includes athlete registration and a $550 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation.
The 2.4 mile swim will take place in the Ohio river, which may prove to be interesting, depending on weather conditions come August.
