In a coincidence (the LBC posted the best 100 climbs in the Lou. area last week) Bicycling mag. in their March 07 issue list the "100 Best Climbs in America." You always have to remember that they have subscriptions to sell, and coming up w/the 100 best climbs in the entire country is rather subjective, but nonetheless, they made sure to include one climb here in KY.

It's known as the "Blue Heron Climb" and it starts south of Stearns, off of hgwy. 27. Distance is listed as 2.75 miles, with a 13% average grade and a knee-burning 1,800 ft. of vertical gain. For more info. visit cumberlandcycles.com

Has anyone done this climb???

Just noticed that the

Just noticed that the article lists a road ride in IN that runs through Brown County State Park (which is the largest park in the state by the way). The distance is only 1.2 miles, avg. grade is 6.2%, and the overall elevation gain is 326. The article says the course record is 4:37. A nice short climb for some interval workouts!
